Fake Account Lands Andy Dosty in Trouble as Angry Family Storms Station

Ghanaian radio host Andy Dosty has found himself entangled in a disturbing ordeal involving identity theft and false accusations, following a string of impersonation scams carried out using his name and image on social media.

The seasoned broadcaster, well-known for his work on Hitz FM, shared details of the bizarre incident during a televised conversation. He explained that several fraudulent online profiles have been created using his pictures, with scammers exploiting unsuspecting individuals by pretending to be him.

One incident, in particular, stood out. According to Andy, he was shocked when a young woman and her mother appeared at his workplace, claiming he was responsible for an alleged pregnancy. The situation unfolded at the reception area, where the two women had been waiting to confront the person they believed to be the culprit.

As the tense exchange began, the woman’s mother questioned whether Andy was truly the man they were looking for. Upon seeing him, the daughter realized he wasn’t the person who had been chatting with her online. The misunderstanding stemmed from a scammer using Andy’s photos and name to deceive the unsuspecting girl into believing she was in a relationship with the media personality.

The confrontation was quickly resolved once the truth was uncovered, but the event highlighted the real-world damage caused by impersonation. Andy, who has repeatedly reported fake accounts in the past, acknowledged how challenging it is to manage the fallout from these impersonations—especially when they lead to such emotionally charged encounters.
