Ghanaian Prophet Lands in Trouble After Predicting Shatta Wale’s Murder

A self-proclaimed prophet and counselor, D. Y. Donkoh, has been taken into police custody following a disturbing prophecy in which he claimed Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale would be assassinated.

The arrest occurred late on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the preacher’s home. The move came days after the controversial prediction went viral and triggered public uproar, especially from the musician himself.

In footage posted by Shatta Wale’s publicist, Sammy Flex, Donkoh can be seen being questioned by officers as he attempts to justify the spiritual “revelation” that placed Shatta Wale’s life in danger. The prophet had earlier shared a video claiming to have seen two prophetic dreams: in the first, Shatta Wale escaped an attack and praised God; in the second, he was fatally shot by three unidentified gunmen.

The alarming nature of the prophecy caused Shatta Wale to react strongly on social media, demanding that the Ghana Police Service act swiftly. He gave authorities a one-week deadline to arrest Donkoh, warning that failure to do so would force him to take matters into his own hands—though he clarified his response would be peaceful but impactful.

Shatta Wale’s demand appeared to have prompted the police response, given his past experience with similar prophecies. Back in 2021, a similar death prediction caused him to stage his own disappearance, an act that led to his own arrest for inciting fear and panic.
