A 46-year-old woman from Wonkayaw in the Oti Region is recovering from a brutal domestic incident that left her permanently disfigured. The attack, allegedly carried out by her husband, occurred shortly after he returned from a funeral and escalated into violence while she was preparing food for the family.

According to the victim, the confrontation turned physical without warning. In the chaos, her husband allegedly bit off her ear. She was rushed to KOPAH Clinic with the severed tissue, but medical staff confirmed that reattachment was no longer possible due to the delay in seeking treatment.

The case has been reported to the Krachi East Police Command, where both parties have filed complaints. The husband claims he was also assaulted, prompting police to issue medical forms to both individuals. Investigations will proceed once they are discharged from hospital.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Al-hassan Abdu-Rzak, the Divisional Crime Officer in Dambai, confirmed that the police are reviewing medical reports and gathering evidence to determine the full scope of the incident.
