The Ghana Football Association has named Kassim Ocansey Mingle as the new Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, ushering in a fresh era for Ghana’s CHAN team. Mingle, currently leading Nations FC in the Premier League, is widely regarded as one of the most tactically astute coaches in the country. His near-title run with Nations FC and previous transformation of Bechem United have earned him a reputation for building competitive squads from the ground up.

Joining him is a seasoned backroom team designed to inject experience and stability into the national setup. Samuel Boadu, head coach of Berekum Chelsea and former double-winning manager with Hearts of Oak, steps in as Assistant Coach. He’ll be joined by Godwin Attram, a former Ghana U20 captain and current coach of Attram Di Visser, who also takes on assistant duties.

Stephen Ahorlu, once the last line of defense for the Black Stars, returns to the national fold as Goalkeepers Coach. Henry Martey, former Black Stars Team Manager, will oversee player welfare, while Justice Kofi Mensah and Francis Ofori handle kit management.

The medical and performance team is equally robust. Gilbert Yankson takes charge as Physiotherapist, Abass Adjei-Grant leads video analysis, and Prince Charles Anokye manages player recovery as Team Masseur. At the helm of medical operations is Dr. Abena Yeboaa Tannor, a respected figure in sports and rehabilitation medicine. Her dual role as Chairperson of the GFA Medical Committee and Training Coordinator for the national fellowship program adds depth to the team’s health strategy.

This overhaul signals the GFA’s intent to build a formidable squad ahead of the next CHAN tournament. With Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani stepping aside to focus on his new role at Accra Hearts of Oak, the baton now passes to Mingle and his team to restore Ghana’s dominance on the continental stage.
