Peprah’s actions unfolded on the morning of August 17, 2025, when he scaled the wall of the Ministry’s Annex “E” Treasury Block. After breaking through five louvre blades, he entered an office and carried off laptops, chargers, a fridge, and a Bluetooth speaker. Using keys he found inside, he opened a second room and stole more items, including a Lenovo and Dell laptop.

His attempt to escape was cut short when a jogger and a resident questioned him about a suspicious bag he carried. Their intervention triggered a chase involving officers from the nearby Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority. Peprah abandoned the stolen laptops during the pursuit but was eventually arrested near the Ministry of Labour.

The stolen items, including the laptops and fridge, were recovered and returned to the Ministry. Peprah later admitted to the offence in a police caution statement.

At the Adabraka District Court, presided over by Mrs Abena Owusu Omenyo, Peprah pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing. He denied related charges of unlawful entry and causing unlawful damage, which were later struck out. The judge convicted him on his own plea and handed down a six-month custodial sentence.
