Prophet Roja Says NPP Offered GH¢100K for Spiritual Help—Still Lost Akwatia Seat
  • Preacher Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, alleges that the NPP offered GH¢100,000 for spiritual intervention to win the Akwatia by-election.
  • Roja says he was contacted by NDC candidate Bernard Bediako Baidoo for spiritual protection ahead of the polls.
  • He claims to have warned Baidoo about internal sabotage and assured him of victory.
  • Roja reportedly told NPP officials that no amount of spiritual work could overturn the outcome, which he believed was destined.
  • The NDC’s Baidoo eventually won the seat with 18,199 votes, defeating NPP’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu, who polled 15,235.
  • Roja says Baidoo has not reached out since the win, despite earlier spiritual consultations.

The Akwatia by-election may be over, but fresh revelations from Prophet Samuel Henry—widely known as Prophet Roja—have stirred controversy around the spiritual undercurrents of the campaign.

Roja claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) allegedly offered GH¢100,000 for spiritual guidance in a bid to secure the parliamentary seat. According to him, the offer came after he had already been contacted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, for spiritual protection.

Roja says he assured Baidoo that the seat was already destined for him and warned him about possible sabotage from within his own circle. He also claims to have reached out to NPP’s top brass, including General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, through Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to inform them that no spiritual intervention could reverse the outcome.

The preacher alleges that the NPP initially proposed GH¢100,000 for spiritual work but was told to save the money for post-election expenses, as the seat was spiritually sealed for the NDC.

Baidoo went on to win the by-election with 18,199 votes, beating NPP’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu, who secured 15,235. Despite the victory aligning with Roja’s prophecy, he says Baidoo has not contacted him since the win.

The claims have added a layer of mysticism to what was already a fiercely contested race, raising questions about the role of spiritual consultants in Ghanaian politics and the lengths parties may go to secure electoral success.
