The young priestess gained widespread attention during the four-day burial rites of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, where she displayed mannerisms beyond her years, walking with a stick, performing age-old rituals, and embodying the presence of the ancient deity she channels.

In a candid interview with GHPage TV, Nana Afia Druwaa shared that as a child, her dream was to become a musician, but her destiny changed dramatically at age four when she became possessed by the deity.

Her father initially opposed her priesthood calling, hoping she would move abroad and pursue a more conventional path. Nana Afia herself resisted at first, believing her talents in singing would shape her future. However, the spiritual forces guiding her life would not allow her to pursue music, compelling her to embrace her role as a priestess.

She explained that attempts to steer her away from the priesthood even resulted in consequences for her family, including disruptions to her mother’s finances, as the deity enforced its will.

Nana Afia Druwaa also addressed her personal life, stating that marriage is not currently on her agenda. She emphasized that should she ever consider marriage, it would require the knowledge and approval of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, along with the performance of specific traditional rites.
