Tensions have emerged within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC), accused the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, of withholding a disciplinary committee report concerning Kennedy Agyapong. Abronye DC claimed that the 2023 report recommended Agyapong’s expulsion due to alleged anti-party conduct.
Kodua Frimpong, however, rejected these assertions, clarifying that no such recommendation for expulsion existed.
According to party records, the disciplinary committee had merely cautioned Agyapong over statements he made in 2023 and did not propose his removal.
Frimpong stressed that the allegations made by Abronye DC were misleading and amounted to misconduct by a party leader.
The NPP General Secretary suggested that as a regional chairman, Abronye DC’s public statements misrepresented the facts and breached party protocols.
He highlighted the importance of respecting party structures and ensuring that information is accurately communicated before airing internal matters publicly.
This dispute has drawn attention to internal party dynamics and the handling of disciplinary matters, with calls for adherence to procedural processes to prevent misinformation and unnecessary tensions among party members.
