Liverpool have been dealt another defensive blow as Jeremie Frimpong, the Dutch-Ghanaian full-back, is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks due to a recurring hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old sustained the injury during Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week, adding to fitness issues that already kept him out of several matches earlier this season after his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong is unlikely to return before early December, forcing him to miss a series of crucial fixtures as Liverpool struggle with form, having lost six of their last seven games across all competitions.

The Reds face a challenging schedule, including matches against Aston Villa, Real Madrid, and Manchester City before the international break, followed by six games in just 17 days in both domestic and European competitions.

Frimpong’s absence leaves Liverpool thin at right-back. Conor Bradley, recently back from injury, is the only fit senior specialist, while Calvin Ramsay, Joe Gomez, and Dominik Szoboszlai could be deployed in defensive roles.

The injury adds to a frustrating start at Anfield for Frimpong, who was signed to bolster Liverpool’s flanks with his pace and attacking ability but has struggled with consistency due to ongoing fitness setbacks.
