Deputy Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, has expressed that the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings marks the most heartbreaking moment in his political life.
In a telephone engagement on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM’s As It Is in Ghana, he could barely contain his emotions as he recounted the strong personal bond he shared with the late former First Lady. He revealed that she played a crucial role in shaping his political journey, guiding him from the very beginning into mainstream national politics and helping him gain valuable experience that propelled him to prominence.
According to him, Nana Konadu’s mentorship extended beyond politics. He described her as a maternal figure whose care and affection were acknowledged even by his own biological family. He emphasized that she will forever remain in his heart for the love, guidance, and leadership she showed him throughout the years.
Owusu Bempah also shed light on the profound grief being experienced by her children. He highlighted their close relationship with their mother and noted that her sudden departure has struck the family with deep sorrow. He assured them of his unwavering support in this difficult period.
Addressing questions about the cause of her death, he explained that only medical professionals and the grieving family are positioned to release such information, and he would not comment further on that matter.
