Police in the Bono Region have arrested a man believed to be responsible for the fatal attack on two security officers guarding a timber concession at Mpamso near Nsuhia in the Dormaa Central Municipality. The victims, Sani Aliyu and Ibrahim Musa, both worked as guards at the ADRAS timber concession when they were murdered.

The arrested man has been identified as 45-year-old motor mechanic, Bashiru Kinda. Investigators suspect he was part of a group engaged in illegal logging operations inside the forest. Officers tracked him down on Monday, November 3, 2025, at a hideout in Diabaa following intelligence leads.

During a search of his residence, police recovered a Bruni model 96 automatic pistol loaded with three rounds of ammunition, along with multiple mobile phones, machetes, and a collection of charms and talismans.

The attack that led to the deaths occurred on October 26, 2025. A security officer from the same concession, Ibrahim Issah, reported that close to 200 armed men stormed the site. The assailants were said to have fired at the guards and also set a Toyota pickup truck ablaze.

When police arrived at the scene that day, they discovered the bodies of the two slain guards roughly 100 metres apart. The remains were later deposited at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital morgue for autopsy.
