Former MP for Bantama and Nhyiaeso, Dr. Winfred Anane, has recounted a tense encounter involving former President John Kufuor and the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Abronye.
Speaking on Abusua FM, Dr. Anane revealed that about a month ago, senior NPP officials held a meeting to strategize on strengthening the party. During the discussion, former President Kufuor
proposed that all regional chairmen collaborate closely as a unified team to ensure smooth operations within the party.
According to Dr. Anane, Abronye reacted strongly, openly criticizing and rebuking the former president for his suggestion. The confrontation reportedly left Kufuor visibly upset. Following the incident, party members apologized to the former president on behalf of Abronye to mend the tension.
Dr. Anane’s account has shed light on internal disagreements among top party officials and underscores ongoing challenges in maintaining cohesion within the NPP leadership.
