Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has reprimanded Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh for publicly alleging that the minority caucus had been disrespected by the majority.

The exchange occurred during parliamentary proceedings on November 13, 2025, when Annoh Dompreh accused Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga of sidelining the minority in the conduct of government business. He claimed that the minority often had to compromise to allow government matters to proceed and expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of inclusivity.

Speaker Bagbin intervened, reminding the Minority Whip that concerns of this nature could be addressed through internal channels rather than aired publicly. He emphasized that frequent discussions and negotiations in the parliamentary lobby already provide opportunities to resolve differences.

Bagbin urged all leaders to handle disagreements discreetly to avoid creating a negative impression for the public. He stressed the importance of maintaining unity and cooperation within Parliament while acknowledging that differences are inevitable in the legislative process.

The Speaker’s remarks serve as a caution against turning internal disputes into public spectacle, reinforcing the need for professional conduct in parliamentary debates.
