Piesie Esther, one of Ghana’s celebrated Gospel voices, says her entire career has been free of the common disputes many musicians face when trying to collaborate. Speaking during an appearance on Hitz FM on November 13, 2025, she explained that she has never run into the usual challenges involving fees, disputes, or difficult negotiations.
She shared that this smooth experience comes from the solid relationships she has developed with fellow artistes over the years. Because of these long-standing connections, her colleagues do not demand payment when she approaches them for a project. She has worked with the same circle of musicians since her early days, and none of them has ever requested a fee from her.
Piesie Esther explained that she often reciprocates by supporting her colleagues in ways that go beyond music. When invited to their events, she sometimes attends with her entire ten-member band and personally handles all associated expenses, seeing it as part of maintaining a healthy professional bond.
She also mentioned that she does not accept payment when invited to perform at other artistes’ shows. Even when colleagues attempt to offer her something in appreciation, she chooses not to take it. In her experience, this mutual understanding has led to a culture where artistes who appear at her events do not expect any form of compensation either, aside from small gestures such as fuel support when the event is over.
Although she acknowledged that every artiste has the right to charge for their work, she emphasized that her personal approach has made collaborations easy and conflict-free throughout her career.
