Ghana is preparing to transition fully into a digital era of security recruitment as the Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has revealed a new system designed to eliminate the long-standing paper-based process. The minister announced the initiative during a press briefing on Friday, November 14, 2025, noting that the shift is meant to make applications easier, faster, and more transparent for all prospective candidates.
Under the new arrangement, applicants will be able to start and complete the entire recruitment process using their mobile phones. The access code that opens the portal is expected to be released on Sunday, November 16, 2025, giving the public a clear timeline for when to begin their submissions.
Muntaka explained that the Interior Ministry has been working to modernize its operations, aiming to make the recruitment experience completely digital. The system created for this purpose is a centralized e-recruitment platform intended to streamline the hiring process across every agency under the ministry. Through this platform, applicants will be able to track each stage of their application, from submission to screening and medicals, without needing intermediaries or physical visits to confirm updates.
He also acknowledged that while the system primarily depends on mobile connectivity, not every part of the country experiences stable network access. To ensure nationwide inclusion, additional measures have been introduced. Applicants in areas with limited network coverage will have the option of obtaining application vouchers from any Ghana Commercial Bank or Ghana Post branch, offering a secondary route into the system.
The new digital platform is expected to reduce stress, prevent overcrowding, and make the entire recruitment structure more transparent and convenient for the thousands of individuals who apply each year.
