President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed that his administration will not offer protection to any government official found engaging in corrupt acts. He made this clear during an interaction with the leadership of the Christian Council of Ghana on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, where he stressed that integrity and accountability remain central to his governance principles.

He explained that long before assuming office, he committed to intensifying the national fight against corruption, insisting that the agenda is not driven by personal vendettas but by the need to restore public confidence and uphold the values the Council often champions.

The president highlighted a recurring challenge in Ghana’s governance system—corruption cases typically attract attention only when an administration leaves power. According to him, this pattern fuels accusations of political targeting from outgoing governments whenever investigations begin.

To counter this, President Mahama announced that accountability processes under his leadership will take place while officials are still in office, rather than waiting for the end of their tenure. He noted that his ministers and appointees have been repeatedly reminded during Cabinet sessions that any involvement in scandalous conduct will attract immediate repercussions.

He stressed that the credibility of his administration depends on decisive, impartial action and assured the Christian Council that no official will be sheltered, regardless of their status or position. Mahama maintains that confronting wrongdoing promptly is the only way to rebuild public trust and strengthen the country’s governance systems.
