Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has formally approached the Ghana Police Service after a video circulated online making serious, unfounded accusations against her.
The clip, which went viral, features a young man claiming that the singer engaged in a sexual relationship with Tracy Shay, a young girl she had publicly supported after the girl gained attention for dancing to her song. The video also included offensive claims suggesting that a spiritualist had instructed Wendy Shay to act inappropriately toward the girl.
In response, Wendy Shay offered a GHS 5,000 reward to help identify the individual responsible and confirmed that the matter had been officially reported to the police. Investigations indicate that the man is currently residing in the United Arab Emirates and working for a construction company. Authorities are coordinating appropriate measures to hold him accountable.
The singer emphasized that the allegations are entirely false and maliciously intended. She expressed full cooperation with law enforcement and called for public support against cyberbullying, online harassment, and malicious online attacks targeting innocent individuals.
