A candidate taking part in the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise is currently being questioned after presenting what officials believe to be a forged document at the El Wak Stadium.

Colonel Evelyn Asamoah, who heads the Protocol Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces, revealed that the individual is being investigated to determine how the suspicious document was produced and who may have assisted in its creation.

During routine checks, the applicant’s printed summary sheet was found to be inconsistent with the official format generated through the GAF recruitment portal. IT specialists quickly confirmed that the document did not match the system’s outputs, prompting immediate intervention.

The matter has since been handed over to the military police, who are working to uncover the origins of the fake document. Officials say no formal arrest has been made yet, as investigators are focused on tracing the source of the fabrication in order to prevent similar attempts by others.

This development comes just as the national recruitment exercise resumed on November 20, following a temporary suspension ordered by government after a deadly stampede last week. The incident has renewed calls for tighter verification procedures and improved crowd management during security service recruitment activities.
