Prophet Telvin has attributed Abu Francis’ recent injury to what he describes as a spiritual redirection that shielded Mohammed Kudus. In May 2025, he announced a revelation that Kudus was destined to be injured by a player wearing the number 17 jersey. Months later, during Ghana’s friendly match against Japan, it was Toulouse midfielder Abu Francis who ended up with a fractured ankle instead.
Sharing his account on Okay FM on November 20, 2025, the prophet said the incident unfolded exactly as he foresaw—right down to the jersey number and the sequence of play—except that the player affected was not the Tottenham and Black Stars midfielder. He argued that the injury was meant for Kudus but had been diverted following spiritual interventions he carried out after people asked him to act on the prophecy.
Telvin explained that he adjusted certain elements spiritually, resulting in the misfortune shifting from Kudus to Francis. In his view, the situation involved a predetermined event in which a number-17 player was destined to cause an ankle break, something he believes could not be prevented entirely but only redirected.
He also linked the intense spiritual attention surrounding Kudus to the national expectation placed on him, stressing that a serious ankle injury to the star midfielder would have had a damaging effect on the Black Stars.
Francis’ injury occurred roughly ten minutes into the second half when he attempted to block a shot. The twist to his ankle immediately alarmed teammates, leading to him being carried off the pitch. He had returned to the national team for the Japan and South Korea friendlies after missing the World Cup qualifiers in September and October, and he started the game before being replaced in the 56th minute by Alidu Seidu.
