Legal practitioner and activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has revealed that Wendell Yeboah, Head of Mobilization for Democracy Hub, has not been brought before the court following his arrest.

Despite the Ghana Police Service previously announcing that Yeboah would appear in court on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Barker-Vormawor said the suspect was still not presented as of the morning session. Lawyers had been waiting at both the court and the police station, but the police failed to produce him.

Barker-Vormawor highlighted the delay in a social media post, emphasizing the extended wait and expressing scrutiny over the authorities’ inaction.

Yeboah’s arrest followed allegations he made against several government officials regarding involvement in illegal mining activities, which investigators have since found to be false. The arrest stemmed from a petition submitted to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) by Daniel Sasu Omari on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers.

The petition prompted the police to detain Yeboah to aid in their investigation. The Democracy Hub official had claimed on a radio program that Eastern Regional Minister Rita Awatey, Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson, and Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene were implicated in galamsey operations.

The police have yet to confirm a new date for Yeboah’s arraignment, leaving his legal team and supporters waiting for clarity on the next steps.
