We Won’t Call or Text Customers to pay For Any Service Via MoMo- ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has warned the public against fraudulent activities of some persons preying on the cashless operation.

Acknowledging that it had gone fully cashless, the Company said it would never text or call to demand payment from customers through Mobile Money.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform the general public that the company has gone fully cashless. ECG has ceased taking physical cash from customers in respect of transactions and does not demand payment for services through phone calls.”

“ECG will not call or send you a message with a MoMo number to pay for any service. Customers are encouraged to report all suspicious calls and messages to 0302-611611.”

It directed customers to pay for services, fees, and bills by personally initiating the transactions through the ECG power App or short code *226#.
