The next Akwasidae festival will fall on the first day of the second month of next year, according to the calendar of the Asante Kingdom.
Known as ‘Adae Kɛse’, it will be held in grand style at the Manhyia Palace with all paramount and subchiefs in attendance.
Asanteman is expected to celebrate the festival eight times in 2026.
After the first on February 1, the remaining dates are March 15, April 26, June 7, July 19, August 30, October 11, and November 22.
Meanwhile, the Asante Kingdom celebrated the last Akwasidae festival of 2025 on December 21, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Held grandly, it was joined by Lady Julia Osei Tutu, President John Dramani Mahama and his government officials, organisers of the Millennium Excellence Awards, Asante Professionals Club, Ghana Cleft Foundation, Afia Kobi Serwaa Apem SHS, Chief Executive Officer of Akate Farms Trading Company, who also doubles as Paramount Chief of the Bawiesibai Traditional Area, Kuoru Baluganie Sapara II, the Zongo Community and other dignitaries.
