In a milestone celebration, 2nd Image, a leading beauty and fashion college in Ghana, marked its 40th anniversary with a grand launch at its Accra campus, on Friday, December 19.

The event highlighted the institution’s remarkable journey in transforming the beauty industry in Ghana and beyond since its establishment in 1986.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Clint Boa-Amponsem, General Manager of 2nd Image, revealed that the college has played a pivotal role in redefining the beauty industry in Ghana.

According to him, the founder’s vision of setting the standard for certified training in the industry has made beauticians and fashion designers respectable professionals, offering a white-collar career path to thousands of Ghanaians.

He also mentioned that with over 10,000 graduates, 2nd Image has empowered its students to become job creators, not just job seekers.

The college’s impact, he pointed, is evident in the numerous salons, spas, and beauty establishments owned by its graduates across Ghana, West Africa, South Africa, America, and Europe.

“The college’s focus on competence-based training has ensured that its graduates are industry-ready, directly tackling the skills gap in the job market and contributing to the reduction of youth unemployment.

“Moreover, 2nd Image has been a champion of financial independence for women, with a significant majority of its students being females.

“Beyond aesthetics, 2nd Image has been a vocal advocate for public health and social ethics in the industry. The founder has been a long-time campaigner against skin bleaching, educating the public on the dangers of skin bleaching products and promoting natural healthy skin.,” he said.
