Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has deployed technical teams and logistics to intensify maintenance works at its treatment plants, aiming to stabilise production levels and improve water distribution, particularly in areas experiencing challenges.

It said given the expected increase in consumption during the festive period and the onset of the dry season, the GWL remained committed to ensuring equitable distribution of treated water across all communities.

A statement from the GWL said: “Barring any unforeseen technical setbacks, customers should expect progressive improvement in water flow over the coming days.

“We appreciate the concerns expressed by the public and assure all customers that corrective measures are currently underway,” the statement said.

Assurance

Speaking on the ongoing interventions, the acting Managing Director of the GWL, Adam Mutawakilu, assured the public of the management’s commitment.

“We understand the inconvenience the recent supply interruptions have caused, especially as families prepare for the festive holidays.

Our teams are working tirelessly to stabilise the system and improve water flow to all affected communities,” he said.

Mr Mutawakilu also called on customers to remain patient and continue to conserve water as we resolve the challenges to ensure a smooth and enjoyable festive season for all.

Engagement

The GWL also encouraged the public to follow regular notices and updates published on official media platforms, including announcements relating to the Water Demand Management Programme (WDMP), to enhance transparency and customer engagement.

The WDMP schedules outline supply timelines for various communities to ensure fair and efficient distribution of limited water resources.

The company further urges the public to use water responsibly and support conservation efforts.

Customers, the GWL advised, must also repair leaking taps, pipes, and storage systems promptly, among others.

“The GWL remains committed to delivering safe, reliable and uninterrupted potable water to all customers,” it said and advised customers with challenges to call its customer service centres.
