Both Jonina Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies suffered their first defeats of the 2025/26 Ghana Women’s Premier League over the weekend.

Jonina Ladies, who are leaders of the table in the Southern Zone, had been on a seven-game unbeaten run since the start of the season, dropping just two points in that period.

However, that run ended on Sunday in their league game against Army Ladies when they made the trip to Teshie.

Esther Asamoah Yiadom scored the only goal of the game to give the home side the lead and hand Jonina their first loss of the campaign.

In other games, Soccer Intellectuals recorded a narrow win over Halifax Queens on Saturday.
