Ruben Amorim has been sacked from Manchester United
English football club Manchester United has sacked its manager, Ruben Amorim.
The decision came after the former manager met with Director of Football Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada on January 5, 2026.
Darren Fletcher, who previously served as an under-18 coach at Manchester United, will take over as the new manager of the English side.
Ruben Amorim’s dismissal follows a dramatic press conference on January 4, 2025, in which he claimed to have joined Manchester United as their manager, not head coach.
Meanwhile, United is sitting in sixth position on the Premier League table after a dramatic 1–1 draw against Leeds United in their most recent fixture.
