Senior Advisor to the 2025 Bawumia Campaign, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, has commended the personal qualities of New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He stated that his leadership style reflects traits similar to those of President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr Karbo described President Mahama as a gentle and relatable leader who connects easily with Ghanaians, and argued that the former Vice President exhibits comparable attributes of humility, calmness and accessibility.
He said these qualities make Dr Bawumia well suited to meet the expectations of voters seeking a composed and attentive national leader.
According to him, Ghanaians are increasingly drawn to leaders who listen, remain consistent in their messaging and engage the public with empathy.
He noted that Dr Bawumia’s personal disposition and conduct on the campaign trail align with these public expectations.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on January 6, Mr Karbo praised the consistency of Dr Bawumia’s campaign, stressing that his message remains unchanged across different parts of the country.
He said this consistency is helping to project him as a credible and dependable presidential contender.
“I am very happy with the way the campaign, the messaging, and his consistency have gone,” Mr Karbo said.
“If you listen to Bawumia in Cape Coast and then meet him in Yendi, you will hear the same message. He’s very consistent. People are beginning to see a consistent presidential candidate — someone who is very knowledgeable, very humble, very calm, and the type of president Ghanaians are looking for.”
He added that President Mahama is often recognised for his gentle and approachable nature, which resonates strongly with the electorate, and said Dr Bawumia reflects a similar sense of mellowness.
Mr Karbo further noted that the NPP, now in opposition, has placed a strong emphasis on listening to the concerns of citizens, a quality he believes strengthens Dr Bawumia’s appeal as the party’s flagbearer.
