Six people have been killed and two others are in critical condition following a fatal road accident involving an aboboyaa (tricycle) and a timber truck at Sehwi Asikuma in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.

The accident occurred when the aboboyaa, carrying the rider and seven market women, collided head-on with a timber-laden truck travelling in the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses reported that the timber truck was speeding, forcing the aboboyaa rider to swerve in an attempt to avoid the collision. Despite the attempt, the truck reportedly rammed the tricycle with full force.
