Senior Advisor to the 2025 Bawumia Campaign, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, has lauded New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, highlighting leadership qualities he says are reminiscent of President John Dramani Mahama.
In a citinewsroom.com on January 7, 2026, Karbo described President Mahama as a ‘gentle and relatable leader’ whose demeanor resonates with Ghanaians.
He added that Dr Bawumia exhibits similar traits of humility, calmness, and accessibility, which he believes position him as a candidate capable of meeting the expectations of voters seeking a president who listens and leads with composure.

“I am very happy with the way the campaign, the messaging, and his consistency have gone. If you listen to Bawumia in Cape Coast and then meet him in Yendi, you will hear the same message. He’s very consistent. People are beginning to see a consistent presidential candidate, a person who is very knowledgeable, very humble, very calm, who is the type of President Ghanaians are looking for,” Karbo said.
He emphasised, “You cannot describe Mahama without talking about the fact that he is indeed a gentle president, and that is the type of mellowness Ghanaians are looking for. People are looking for a candidate who is very accessible, a person who listens. One of the things we have done in opposition as a party is we listen,” he stated.
Karbo’s remarks underscore the Bawumia campaign’s focus on projecting a leadership style that mirrors the calm, approachable qualities many Ghanaians value in their leaders.
