Seven people have perished after a Timber truck collided with a tricycle at Asikuma in the Bia West District.
The accident happened on January 7, 2026.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the scene for safety, rescue coordination, and recovery operations, in collaboration with the Police and Ambulance Services.
The GNFS reported that five of the victims died at the scene, while the other two passed away at the Essam Government Hospital.
The bodies have since been handed over to the Ghana Police Service for autopsy and further investigations.
“The cause of the crash remains under investigation.”
