The Founder of the Paxpee Foundation LBG, Peace Ocloo, has donated assorted relief items to the Avoryno community in Accra as part of its Christmas outreach activities.
The donation included footwear and clothing for various age groups, as well as food hampers containing rice, canned fish, cooking oil, tomato paste and other essential household items.
The foundation also distributed sanitary pads to young girls in the community to support menstrual hygiene management.
The initiative, Mrs Ocloo explained, had been intended to reduce school absenteeism among adolescent girls, prevent teenage pregnancy and contribute to a healthier and more promising future for them.
The foundation also hosted a traditional kenkey party for the community, creating a festive atmosphere for the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Ocloo emphasised that the Paxpee Foundation was committed to fostering love, compassion and social support within the limits of its available resources.
She explained that despite the foundation’s strong dedication to humanitarian services, financial challenges remained significant.
She estimated the cost of the items distributed during the outreach to be between GH¢40,000 and GH¢50,000.
The sum also covered over 200 kilogrammes of kenkey and canned fish, as well as meals and clothing for beneficiaries across different age groups.
Mrs Ocloo expressed the hope that more donors, sponsors and strategic partners would come on board to help expand the foundation’s reach and sustain its charitable efforts.
“Together, we can spread love, restore dignity and build a compassionate society,” she stated.
She further expressed her appreciation to the community leaders and residents of Avoryno for their warm reception and said the foundation hoped to continue its meaningful service to the community.
Foundation
The Paxpee Foundation is an inclusive organisation that serves people of all ages, from birth to old age.
Its areas of focus include women’s empowerment, youth and adult development programmes, support for street-connected people, elderly care and assistance for children with special needs.
The foundation aims to inspire positive societal change, particularly among young people.
Mrs Ocloo said many young individuals required guidance, mentorship, encouragement and financial support to blossom.
She explained that “Pax” in Paxpee Foundation was derived from Latin, meaning peace, which reflected both her personal values and the foundation’s mission to promote peace through service and community engagement.
