The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured that the names of party members cannot be arbitrarily removed from the party’s album.

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Monday, January 12, the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Haruna Mohammed, assured party members that no individual has the authority to remove anyone’s name from the party’s album.

“Nobody can remove anybody’s name from the album,” he stated.

Mr. Mohammed was responding to concerns raised by the team of Bryan Acheampong, which alleged that some delegates in the Northern Region were being pressured with threats that their names could be taken out of the NPP album.

Addressing the allegations, Mr. Mohammed said the claims remain unproven and must be treated strictly as allegations until properly investigated.

“You don’t just bring people for sanction. This is an allegation and it needs to be properly investigated, hearing from both sides,” he said.

He explained that even the alleged actions being discussed are practically impossible within the party’s established processes.

“All the candidates know very well how the album preparation is done. We have presented it to them, we have done validation, and we have exhibited the album. The IT Directorate is currently finalising the process, and no single person, not even the IT Director, can alter anything if it does not pass through the Secretariat and I am part of the Secretariat,” he explained.

He maintained that the system is structured to prevent any individual from manipulating the album.

“Nobody can remove anybody’s name. That is why we have provided avenues for people to petition if they have issues. A mere allegation cannot stand as the truth,” he said.
