The fees have been approved for all UG students

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has released approved fees for the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday, January 12, 2025, and signed by the Director-General, Prof Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai.

The commission noted that the Academic Facility User Fee will remain unchanged from the 2024/2025 academic year.

The approved fees include SRC dues of GH¢750, an SRC Development Levy of GH¢150 and a Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) Development Levy of GH¢250.

Also undergraduate students, including freshmen, will pay a Telecel Broadband Levy of GH₵122.

“Academic Facility User fee to be pegged at the 2024/2025 rate.Student Representative Council (SRC) dues: GH¢50, SRC Development Levy: GH¢150,

Graduate Students (GRASAG) Development levy: GH¢250″, it noted.

GTEC also approved a 75th Anniversary Levy of GH¢100, which will apply only to the 2025/2026 academic year.

It noted that students should be properly educated about their rights, including the option to opt out of specific levies where applicable.

“75th Anniversary Levy: GH¢100 (this fee cannot be charged beyond this academic year),” it said.

GTEC said the move seeks to; “Resolve issues surrounding the 2025/2026 fee schedule for the University of Ghana. We are counting on the usual cooperation of all stakeholders to implement it effectively.”
