Veteran Ghanaian gospel singer Esther Smith has made a shocking revelation about how some people wanted to eliminate her.

Speaking on PAAM TV UK, the ‘Nsuro’ singer disclosed that as she prepared to travel from the United Kingdom to attend the widely publicised Alpha Hour Convocation in December 2025, she began receiving threatening messages from an unknown sender. She said the messages came from a phone number with a Nigerian area code and warned that her life was in danger.

Esther Smith explained that the sender demanded a payment of €300,000, claiming the money would halt an alleged plan to harm her. She indicated that she decided to speak publicly about the threats herself, even though her management had preferred to keep the matter private.

According to her account, the individual behind the messages claimed to have been hired by people she described as her enemies. She added that the same person also threatened to seize control of her YouTube channel as part of the intimidation.

The gospel singer said her team withheld some of these details from her at the time, choosing not to burden her with the full extent of the threats so she could remain focused on her ministry and performance.

She further revealed that this was not the first time she had faced such threats, noting that similar messages had been sent to her in the past.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, Esther Smith said officers from the National Intelligence Bureau provided her with security during her appearance at the 2025 Alpha Hour event, which was held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

She concluded by calling on her fans and loved ones to remember her in their prayers.
