The Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku, Linda Akweley Ocloo, has assured the public that justice will be served for Jalila Abdul Jalil, an eight-year-old pupil of St Olives Grammar School at Dodowa, who was allegedly abused at the school.

According to a viral video circulating on X on January 15, 2026, Linda Ocloo stressed that securing justice for the child is non-negotiable.

“Trust me, she’ll get justice. It is an assurance. The news is all over, so we can assure you that justice for her is rest assured,” she stated.

She further disclosed that complaints about mistreatment of pupils at the school had previously been raised by residents in the area.

“I don’t know how to describe the woman, but from the look of things, even neighbours around are complaining about the treatment of the kids,” she added.

St Olives Grammar School, formerly known as Happy Home School, is a private basic school located in the Shai Osudoku Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The school has come under intense public and media scrutiny following allegations that a boarding housemistress punished Jalila by immersing her legs in a bucket of hot water.

The incident reportedly resulted in severe injuries, with medical officials indicating that the child risks having one of her legs amputated.

Beyond the alleged abuse, serious concerns have also emerged regarding the school’s operations.

Investigations disclosed that the school had relocated from its original premises to a new site without formally notifying or obtaining approval from the relevant education and regulatory authorities.

The matter has since attracted the attention of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and other state agencies, which are currently investigating both the abuse allegations and the school’s regulatory compliance.

In response, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo has directed parents to immediately withdraw their children from the school and announced plans to ensure its permanent closure, citing the need to protect pupils and prevent future incidents.
