Actor and producer Kwaku Manu has shared insights into the struggles comedian Funny Face faced, describing them as spiritual rather than purely physical or mental.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on UTV’s Atuu on January 17, 2026, Kwaku Manu revealed that he and Funny Face had been estranged for nearly three years before the comedian reached out for help. According to him, they had not spoken for two years and nine months when Funny Face contacted him in a desperate state.
“We had parted ways for two years and nine months. One day, Funny Face called me and said if I didn’t help him, he would die,” Kwaku Manu recounted.
He explained that although Funny Face had returned from rehabilitation and appeared active on social media, his struggles continued behind the scenes.
“After he came back from rehab, he was always on his phone, so people thought he was okay. But two weeks later, he called me again, saying he dreamt that he was dead and needed help,” he said.
Deeply concerned, Kwaku Manu asked Funny Face to meet him so they could talk and find a solution. He noted that, in his opinion, the comedian’s problems went beyond physical or mental health.
“I asked him to come over so we could talk. I believe his issue was spiritual, because if it was physical, he would have recovered by now,” he stated.
Kwaku Manu disclosed that he took Funny Face to Mama Vida’s church for prayers before accommodating him in his home. He said the prayers had an immediate positive effect.
“After the prayers at Mama Vida’s church, I brought him to my house. He told me that the pain he used to feel in his head stopped after the woman prayed for him,” he said.
However, Kwaku Manu added that supporting Funny Face came at a personal cost, as he experienced what he described as spiritual attacks.
“I was almost attacked spiritually myself, so I had to rush to Mama Vida for deliverance. When you help someone who is under spiritual attack, you will definitely be affected,” he explained.
He noted that the deliverance helped him and used his experience to advise others to be cautious and spiritually prepared when assisting people facing similar challenges.
