Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, February 2, 2026
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has announced that the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament will officially commence on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12 noon in Parliament House, Accra.
In a statement issued on January 19, the Speaker invoked clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution, formally scheduling the time and venue for the reconvening of the House.

“KNOW YE ALL MEN that in the exercise of the powers conferred on the Speaker by clause (1) of article 112 of the Constitution, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, by this Constitutional Instrument, appoint Parliament House, Accra, to be the place, and 12 noon of Tuesday, February 3, 2026 to be the time at which the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence,” the statement read.
Parliament had adjourned sine die on December 19, 2025, for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

However, the upcoming session marks a critical phase in the parliamentary calendar, as government business resumes in earnest.
