The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced that the First Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament will officially commence on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Parliament.

A statement issued yesterday by the Office of the Speaker and signed by Mr Bagbin said the proceedings of the next meeting would begin at 12 noon.

“Know Ye All Men that in the exercise of the powers conferred on the Speaker by Clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution, I, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, by this constitutional instrument, appoint Parliament House, Accra, to be the place, and 12 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to be the time at which the Second session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence,” the statement read.

The meeting will mark the first parliamentary session of this year.

Parliament adjourned sine die on Friday, December 19, 2025, for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
