The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has trained 155,216 young Ghanaians under its apprenticeship-to-entrepreneurship programmes and supplied 6,194 start-up kits to support emerging businesses.

Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, made this known during her turn at the Government Accountability Series, noting that “over GHS 19 million has been disbursed through financial partnerships to empower youth and support start-up ventures across the country.”

She emphasised that the funds aim to “help young people scale their businesses and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economy.”

Highlighting efforts to empower women, Minister Ofosu-Adjare revealed that “our women-focused trade programmes trained over 150 women-led businesses and sensitised 2,800 cross-border traders, including youth and persons with disabilities, on best practices and opportunities in trade.”

She added that these initiatives are critical to ensuring inclusive economic growth and equitable access to resources.
