The Mandari Wura of the Bole Traditional Area, Gilbert Seidu Iddi, has praised operatives of the Blue Water Guards deployed to the area to help fight the menace of illegal mining (galamsey) in the area.

Addressing the operatives at his palace after an operation on January 21, 2026, the chief said he was impressed by the determination of the officers to arrest illegal miners who were causing havoc in his area.

“We agreed on your operation yesterday. Unfortunately, by the time you got there, the criminals who were causing all the havoc had escaped.

The Mandari Wura is the second most powerful person in the Bole Traditional Area and went on to pledge that he was going to help resolve the challenges of the guards in the fight against galamsey, including inadequate motorbikes to use for operations.
