The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have announced the arrest of a Ghanaian national in Columbus, Ohio.

According to ICE, in a post shared on social media on January 21, 2026, the Ghanaian man was seeking immigration benefits despite his alleged past criminal offense.

Authorities revealed that the individual attempted to conceal his identity in order to obtain immigration benefits but was subsequently arrested.

“A Ghanaian alien convicted of credit card fraud came to our Columbus, Ohio, office looking for immigration benefits. He tried to hide his criminal past, but officers unveiled the truth.
