The Ghana Police Service is gearing up to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
Briefing party members , the Inspector General of Police (IGP) assured that police personnel are deployed countrywide, with at least 70 officers stationed at each police station.
IGP promised to deploys 70 police Officers per Polling Station in the upcoming January 31st Presidential Primaries
“We have the inner deployment, the middle deployment, and the outer deployment. The outer deployment is heavily loaded,” the IGP said, adding that the police are ready to handle any situation.
He warned against deploying “macho men” to polling stations, cautioning that the police are “more macho than the macho men you deploy.”
The IGP appealed for calm and assured that the police will do their work peacefully, contributing to a secure and successful election process.
“We’ll contribute heavily to make sure that at the end of the day, the one you want to be the presidential candidate… will come out victoriously under a peaceful security arrangement,” he said.
