New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant Kwabena Agyepong has described himself as “an eternal optimist.”
The engineer insists that despite financial challenges and tough competition, he remains confident ahead of the party’s primaries.
In an interview on Joy News’ PM Express on Monday, Mr Agyepong acknowledged the personal and financial toll of contesting in a high-stakes political race.
He said he does not have infinite resources, but stressed, “I’m a very modest person, and so, of course, but I’ve got a lot of good people who believe in my political philosophy who are supporting and helping.”
He expressed optimism in the face of opinion polls suggesting only two frontrunners, stressing that the true test will come on voting day.
“I am an eternal optimist, and I always believe that the real poll will be on the 31st of January,” Agyepong said.
He added that polls are often designed to give governments and politicians an idea of the impact of their policies, rather than to predict final outcomes.
