3 Busted For Impersonating Communication Minister

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has dismantled a three-member syndicate impersonating the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George.

They were alleged to be involved in other cybercrimes, including sextortion and MoMo-related fraud.

The group was busted in an operation in Vakpo in the Volta Region and have since been processed for Court, the Minister conveyed in a statement issued on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

In a separate operation by the CSA, the Greater Accra Regional Command and the CID of the Ghana Police Service, he reported the arrest of three Nigerians and a Ghanaian national, Sakumono.

An operation across three locations dismantled a sophisticated SIMbox operation.

“Three Nigerian nationals, along with a Ghanaian landlord, were arrested for their role in the operations. “

“Ghana is a hospitable nation, but be assured that if you choose to engage in cybercrime, we will track you down, arrest you, and make you face the full rigours of our legal system!” Sam George stated.
