Following earlier reports about the alleged stabbing of Gilda Nortey by her husband, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, in the United States, new details have emerged.

It may be recalled that GhanaWeb previously reported the arrest of Valentino Nii Noi Nortey on January 20, 2026, after he allegedly stabbed his wife, Gilda Nortey.

In a recent development, a court affidavit sighted by GhanaWeb on January 27, 2026, details how the victim arrived naked at the Pennsylvania State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Centre after sustaining stab wounds inflicted with a black Home Hero-brand knife.

According to the affidavit, a staff member at the Pennsylvania State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center contacted the police around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, to report the condition of Gilda upon her arrival at the emergency room for treatment.

“Staff at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center called Paxton police at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday, after a naked woman with stab wounds arrived at their emergency room,” police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

The document further revealed that Valentino Nii Noi Nortey admitted to the police that he was responsible for stabbing his wife.

“According to the affidavit, Nortey admitted to Officer Logan Becker that he stabbed his wife at their home.”

The affidavit also stated that the couple’s children were present at home when the incident occurred. It added that when police arrived at the crime scene, all five children, aged between 5 and 17 years, were still in the house.

The document further detailed that Nortey attempted to wash the blood off the knife after police responded to the scene.

“The couple’s five children, aged 5 to 17, were home at the time of the stabbing and were still there when Nortey went to the police department.

“After Nortey provided police with the front door code to the house, officers entered the residence and found a black Home Hero-brand knife in the kitchen sink, which they believe was used in the stabbing. The court document stated that the knife appeared to have been washed and had no visible blood on it.”

Meanwhile, the case, presided over by Judge Wendy Grella, has been adjourned to February 2, 2026, following Valentino Nii Noi Nortey’s appearance in court on January 26, 2026, for a preliminary hearing.
