The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will hold its National Delegates Conference on December 19, 2026, to elect new national party leaders.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the General Secretary, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwatey, said the internal elections would follow a bottom-to-top approach, beginning at the branch level, moving through constituency and regional structures, and culminating at the national level.
He said the filing of nominations would take place from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026, while the vetting of aspirants is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.
According to him, “Appeals will be done on Sunday, November 15 and Monday, 16th of November, 2026. Then, for the youth and women conference, we are looking at Saturday, the 12th December 2026.”
“That congress will happen on Saturday, the 19th December, 2026,” he announced.
Mr Kwatey explained that the exercise forms part of the party’s broader preparations to reorganise and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“So that completes the very important edifice that is supposed to prepare for the next round of fighting for the power in the country and also ensure that we continue the good job that we are doing.”
