The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that party members can pick up nomination forms for the upcoming branch elections from May 2nd to May 30th.
Speaking at a press conference, NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, emphasized the party’s commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent process.
Hon. Kwetey revealed that the party will leverage online platforms to facilitate the nomination process, with constituency executive committees responsible for overseeing the activity and regional executive committees providing supervision.
“We want to ensure that individuals with vested interests don’t prevent others from getting forms,” Kotei stated, acknowledging past instances of intimidation and manipulation.
The NDC aims to create a level playing field for all aspiring candidates, allowing them to contest for leadership positions at the branch level without hindrance. The two-week window for picking nomination forms is expected to be a crucial period in the party’s internal elections.
