Breaking news! A mother kills her son!

Why would a mother kill her own son? One she carried for nine months and brought into the world through painful labour? Yet, this woman killed her son.

I saw it with my own eyes 20 years ago. At the time, I was afraid to speak. After two decades, I am ready to speak and testify. Why? Because I have seen other mothers attempting to kill their children.

The accused had a strong son in his late 20s. He was a notorious thief, and the entire community knew it. Yet whenever his mother was confronted, she strongly opposed the claims and defended her son.

“My son is not a thief!” she insisted.

This continued until the community ran out of patience.

One night, her son went out for an operation and never returned. At sunrise, we woke up to find him dead. His mother wailed until there were no more tears. Yet deep down, everyone knew she was the murderer—not by the act itself, but by looking on and refusing to reprimand her son.

Enough of the killing! I will no longer be silent.

Yesterday, a mother was seen repeating the same mistake. Why would she defend the indefensible?

“If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed” (Deut. 18:22).

God did not say that anyone who prophesies falsely should apologise. That person is fake. Simple! Will we honour man and denigrate the name of God?

And if this is happening to the elderly son, what about the younger sons? Just yesterday, many who had previously been caught in failed predictions boldly paraded themselves on air again.

Oh, so if their lottery does not hit, a “mistake occurred somewhere”, but if it happens, then it is proof of one’s calling? I don’t blame them. I blame their mother—the one concocting defences. She is about to kill her son.

Oh, mother church, open your eyes.
