The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has disclosed how the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been a backbone to developmental projects currently underway in the region.

According to him, His Majesty’s intervention paved the way for the commencement of the Ahodwo-Santansi road project after the project nearly hit a hiatus following resistance from traders occupying the stretch.

In addition, he said, the Asantehene financed the development of the relocation site.
“But for the Asantehene, we wouldn’t have done many things we have achieved in January…On behalf of the President, we thank you.”

The Ahodwo-Santasi stretch is one of the two dualization projects that have begun in the region to reduce traffic.

He further announced a visit by President John Dramani Mahama in the coming days to inspect the Suame Interchange project started by the former government, as well as cut sod for the region’s portion of the flagship Big Push project.
