The Sunyani Diocesan Head of the Church of the Lord (Brotherhood), Apostle E.K. Owusu, has admonished Ghanaians to bury their ethnic, religious and political differences and work in unity to build a just society.

He stressed that without unity of purpose, assiduity and reconciliation, the determination of the people towards the national reconstruction programme would be a mirage.

Apostle Owusu made the call as the Chief Consecrator at the enthronement of Archbishop Eric Kwadwo Mante as the Bishop in charge of the Akyem Oda District of the church last Sunday.

He stressed the need for Ghanaians to commit themselves to their creator, the Omniscient God, in order to receive His salvation to ensure success in all their deliberations.

Apostle Owusu enjoined Christians to worship the Lord with all their hearts but not with divided attention.

He urged religious leaders to be prepared to serve their congregations but not lord it over them.

Apostle Owusu advised the new bishop to be submissive and carry out his ministerial work with humility and dedication to ensure the success of his administration.

Support

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, congratulated Bishop Mante on his elevation and enjoined members of the church to give him the needed support and good counselling to make his ministerial duties successful.

He advised Christians who constituted the majority of the population to use their positions to transform society for the better.

In his maiden address, Bishop Mante expressed gratitude to the Lord, the national leaders of the church and his congregation for elevating him to the high office and promised to live up to expectations.

He called for unity among his congregation in particular and Ghanaians in general towards the reconstruction of a better nation for all and sundry.

Bishop Mante urged Ghanaians to strictly observe personal hygiene and environmental sanitation to reduce the outbreak of diseases.

He promised to lead his congregation to organise periodic clean-up exercises to improve sanitation in the Oda township.

The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyereh, who chaired the function, admonished Bishop Mante to live beyond reproach to sustain the confidence of his congregation.
